The little gauge on your filter is the most useful diagnostic tool on the whole equipment pad, and most pool owners never really read it. Once you know what high, low, and spiking pressure mean, it tells you what’s wrong before the water does.
Start with your clean baseline
Before any reading means anything, you need a reference point, and that’s the pressure your filter shows right after it’s been cleaned with the pump running normally. That’s your baseline.
